Dietitian - First Hill (Part-Time (.5) / Days)
$1000.00 sign-on bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.
Participates in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the nutrition education program at Swedish Weight Loss Services (SWLS). Produces comprehensive nutritional assessments and educates patients in the area of weight management in both individual or group settings. Assists patients by teaching self-management techniques as well as leading program support groups. Assesses patient's self-care needs and his/her ability to manage ongoing and/or post-operative nutritional needs. Functions as a resource to the patient and other health care professionals both within and outside the Center. Applies national standard guidelines while teaching patients and families. Assesses needs of patient and family. Communicates information and coordinates patient care with appropriate members of the health care team. Participates in the development of educational materials. Plans and conducts continuing education programs for allied professionals and the general public. Participates in all ongoing program/quality improvement activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics
- Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Dietitian Certification Or
- Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Nutritionist Certification
- Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration
- 4 years Nutrition experience, preferably one year in ambulatory care setting or community health.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Experience with bariatrics/weight management.
