RN - Palliative Care, Full-time Day shift

$15,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

The Palliative Care Nurse is responsible for coordinating an interdisciplinary approach to palliative care services in collaboration with the patient's care team. The Palliative Care Nurse will assess referrals for appropriateness and/or proactively identify patients appropriate for palliative care, consulting with the patient's care team which includes, but is not limited to, providers, nurses, social workers, case managers, chaplains and family members. The Palliative Care Nurse will monitor and report outcomes, assess barriers to palliative care services and work with the care teams to address said barriers. The Palliative Care Nurse will be responsible for educating patient care staff in palliative care concepts and resources to help maintain current knowledge and competence of staff in palliative care. Under minimum supervision, the Palliative Care Nurse provides culturally, linguistically, and fiscally responsible health care.

Required qualifications:

  • Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire.
  • 2 years Acute care or hospice experience
  • Required upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License (Vendor Managed)
  • Required upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Palliative care, oncology or chronic disease management training
  • National Certification in area of specialty
