Description Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist - CLINICAL LABORATORY - Providence St Peter Hospital-Olympia(HR) SCHEDULE: 0.01 FTE, Variable Shift, Per Diem The position is responsible for professional Medical Laboratory Science bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s). The position performs routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean. The position has responsibility for planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related science from an accredited institution or Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas. Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology Or Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts Or Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists Or Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists 3 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting performing moderate and high complexity testing.
