THE ROLE

The role of the Director of Operations is to lead teams in the planning and delivery of projects and programs that enable operations across the Providence Clinical Network (PCN). The key function of this role is to integrate and align the complex work happening across multiple stakeholders into cohesive programs and projects that support PCN operations. This includes partnering with leadership and management, designing project and program structures, facilitating project and program development, and delivering and reporting on key outcomes.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong communication skills, project/program management experience, and ability to navigate complex challenges. Qualified candidates must have the following characteristics: professionalism, initiative, enthusiasm, ability work effectively on a team or individually, excellent analytical skills, and excellent writing and communication skills. Position requires creative problem solving and decision-making, with limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads key initiatives to advance Operations Integration priorities that result in improved operational performance across the PCN
  • Supports the work of the PCN system team by managing information flow, resolving issues, and providing analysis and advice on key issues and needs
  • Integrates and aligns the work coming from stakeholders, SMEs, and teams across complex programs to support PCN operations
  • Partners across functions within PCN to develop and ensure alignment of key strategic priorities
  • Interacts with the PCN executive team, regional medical group leadership, and relevant functional areas across the organization for the purpose of defining, advancing, and assessing the work of the organization to ensure continued effectiveness
  • Prepares and delivers presentations for internal and external audiences, including support for leadership and Board updates
  • Sets and continually manages project and program expectations with team members and other stakeholders in a timely and clear manner
  • Constantly monitors and reports on progress of projects and programs to leadership; works with leadership to identify issues, risks, and further opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Management Information Systems from an Accredited College or University
  • Training in healthcare decision support tools/databases
  • 5 years of experience in a large, multi-functional health care or equivalent environment
  • Experience with healthcare decision support and/or financial tools/databases
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Clinical background or medical practice management preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Proficient in project management techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean tools preferred
  • Knowledge of programs related to practice management and analytics preferred.
