Description

The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. MT/CLS JRN personnel are capable of performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

  • Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology Or

  • Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists Or

  • Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology

  • Upon hire: In Compliance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), criminal background check and fingerprinting may be required for this position, based on assigned duties. Involves only those positions at PPMC operating the blood irradiator machine.

  • One year: Experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a department in the laboratory or exceeds principal duties and functions in the MLS I job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program.

  • Three years: Clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory.

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
