RN - Community Based - Medical Research at Providence St. Peter Hospital
The community/outreach RN is based out of the Providence community care center and works in partnership with the City of Olympia's Crisis Response Unit (CRU), which is part of the Olympia Police Department; to meet the intertwined medical and behavioral health needs of street dependent individuals in crisis. The RN will be a part of the multidisciplinary team that will:
- Triage, refer and treat: Physical and Behavioral Health
- Assist in client engagement in housing, primary care, case management, social support, correct level of care
- Referral to: Chemical dependency, specialty care, behavioral health, DSHS, etc.
- Follow up care to ensure continued engagement
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse Program
- Current Washington State Licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Completion of an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Class (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire
- Participation in a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) class is required within 12 months of hire and throughout employment as a Registered Nurse
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Be able to pass the Olympia Police Department Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check, in addition to Providence background checks
Preferred qualification:
- Experience working with unhoused individuals experiencing mental health and/or SUD challenges
