Rx Refill Specialist

We are looking for a Pharmacy Refill Technician for the Rx Refill Department at Providence Medical Foundation.

Location: Anaheim, CA

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days

Job Summary:

Under direct, supervision of management, this position is responsible to answer incoming pharmacy refill telephone calls, emails, chat messages and faxes related to prescriptions. Handles patient medication refills according to authorized physician protocols. Since this is a contact center function, may also be assigned

to cover incoming calls for other lines of business.

Essential Functions:

• Utilizing authorized physician protocol to process prescription refill requests in a timely manner and documents into EMR system.
• Maintains current knowledge of medications and drug classifications.
• Conducts patient and pharmacy callbacks in a time efficient manner while maintaining proper phone etiquette.
• Attends and participates in mandatory clinical/business department meetings/in-services Responsible for processing prior authorizations.
• Completes tasks in EMR.
• Handles intake of multiple phone lines using established scripts, protocols and service processes.
• Responds to each call in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
• Accurately tracks and enters calls using appropriate documentation, reporting, and database applications.
• Assists with maintaining department databases and resource tools.
• Understands and uses proper procedures to resolve problems, escalate issues, and achieve objectives in a productive and cooperative manner. Provides timely feedback about processes to improve caller experiences and satisfaction.
• Supports overall department operations through cooperation and teamwork.

Skills:

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, and Windows.
• Must have strong knowledge of medications and drug classifications.
• High level of customer services skills with a genuine caring approach to helping people.
• Demonstrates organizational abilities.
• Requires good written and verbal communications skills to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Must be able to work under general supervision.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced department and handle multiple tasks, work with interruptions, and deal effectively with confidential information.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Education: Coursework/Training - Complete coursework to obtain Pharmacy Tech License

Experience: 2 years Pharmacy technician experience with strong familiarity with medications and drug classifications.

Licenses/Certifications: CA Pharmacy Tech License

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Experience: EMR experience.
