Providence is calling a Scheduler (Full-time/Day Shift) at the Providence St Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

We are seeking a Scheduler who will schedule visits for all Nursing and Home Health Aide Staff using the Agency's computerized scheduling system. Maintain and coordinate ancillary services visits/schedules with ancillary services staff and document the proposed visits in the Agency's computerized scheduling system.
In this position you will:
- Ensure that all new admissions are scheduled to be seen by a professional staff member within 48 hours of referral or discharge from the hospital.
- Assign nursing and aide staff according to geographic location, matching the patient’s age-related, cultural and skill requirements to the skills/competencies of available staff.
- Process all additional service requests (“add-on’s”) and assign or schedule with appropriate care staff.
- Ensure that supervisory visits are scheduled according to Agency policy.
- Ensure that all recertification visits are scheduled in a timely manner according to Agency policy and Medicare guidelines.
- Ensure that all lab visits are scheduled according to physician orders.
- Communicate with nursing and home health aide staff regarding schedule changes and patient requirements throughout the day.
- Communicate same day visit requirements to supervisor.
- Print and distribute daily schedules.
- Fax schedules and care information to appropriate staff on a daily basis.
- Maintain knowledge of scheduling structure and requirements for all professional and para-professional staff.
- Assist supervisor in organizing and coordinating scheduling protocols and procedures.
- Display positive and professional demeanor when communicating with patients, office staff, and co-workers.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Handle multiple telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform a variety of duties (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, maintaining files performance monitoring, etc.).
- Participate in educational program and in-service meetings.
- Maintain established department policies and procedures, Improving Organization Performance program, and patient/customer safety standards.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
- 1 year of hospital, home health agency or medical office experience interfacing with professional and para-professional staff
- Computer skills (Windows, Word)
- Good typing skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication and telephone skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
- Associate's Degree
- Home health agency scheduling experience
