Supervisor Nursing located at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA

$20,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Full-time, Day Shift, Working 36 hours per week.

Assists the Nurse Manager in managing the effective service operations for all Orthopedic and Podiatry patients for both Mission and CHOC Hospital patients. The Clinical Coordinator provides oversight for the Total Joint Team. The Clinical Coordinator facilitates and directs approved surgical resources to ensure quality and safe care for Mission/CHOC Hospital patients. The Clinical Coordinator practices as an expert surgical Registered Nurse in the Orthopedic and Podiatry clinical area. The Clinical Coordinator is a clinical and technical expert resource for surgeons and staff. The Clinical Coordinator ensures that staff skill levels are competent for specific procedures. The Clinical Coordinator assists in the allocation of available resources and the integration of appropriate technologies to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. The Clinical Coordinator provides leadership in knowledge synthesis, critical thinking, problem solving, managing conflict, and addressing ethical issues. Adheres to the ANA Nursing Administration Scope and Standards of Practice.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; or degree must be acquired by 2017.
  • Coursework/Training - Training in AORN Standards.
  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • CNOR or NAON within 6 months (180 days) of hire
  • Preceptor Certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire
  • 2 years Recent Orthopedic and Podiatry clinical experience.
  • 2 years Surgical experience.
  • Pediatric OR experience.

Salary range by location:

Min: $57.88, Max: $93.44

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Coursework/Training - Training in Trauma Hospital, Orthopedic, Podiatry Supplies and Instrumentation, Purchasing or Materials.
  • 3 years Scrub and Circulate experience specific to Orthopedics.
  • Leadership experience.
