Summary:

We are searching for a friendly and enthusiastic Barista with a minimum of 1 year of specialty coffee experience to work with us at our cafe in Oakland, CA.

Our Baristas have excellent customer service skills, love coffee, are excited about our mission to Caffeinate with Purpose, and can get down with our company values: hustle hard, keep it positive, and treat everyone like family.

Availability:

• Our cafe is open Mon - Sat, 8A - 4P
• Availability to attend our quarterly training workshop is a must

Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers enthusiastically and with radical hospitality, providing friendly and respectful service
• Have exceptional knowledge of our coffee menu, offerings and company mission
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso drinks and batch brew coffee by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
• Operate POS system
• Unload/load, stock, and replenish coffee and brewing supplies
• Keep equipment operational, maintain supplies, and perform preventive maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the cafe and coffee bar, and a safe, clean, and sanitary environment
• Support your team, customers, and vendors with joy-filled enthusiasm
• Performs other duties as assigned

• A minimum of 1 year of prior barista experience is a MUST
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• Work requires the following and use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and products
• Exposure to various food products, possibly including some that may have allergens, such as milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soy, among others

Requirements:

Must have ServSafe Food Handler’s Permit within 30 days of employment
