PGIM Investments is aggressively pursuing asset-raising opportunities, particularly in the global retail markets. PGIM has developed relationships with third-party distributors in Europe and Asia. PGIM Investments is focused on the (i) development, management and servicing of distribution relationships; (ii) operational support for the day-to-day activities of investment funds, including on-going supervision of outsourced service providers; (iii) management of the extensive governance requirements of the funds; and (iv) maintenance and development of the fund structure from a legal and regulatory point of view.
PGIM Investments’ global division is based in London, has offices in several European and Asian jurisdictions and has an Irish management company. As part of the global growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer in the PGIM Investments Legal Team, primarily supporting our Irish UCITS umbrella fund. With over 30 sub-funds and registrations in over 15 countries, this is a dynamic fund range at the heart of PGIM Investments’ distribution.
Candidates should ideally possess the following:
- Extensive experience practicing asset management law, including UCITS funds
- Experience as an attorney in a law firm
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- High initiative and energy and the ability to take ownership of projects
- Effectiveness in working cooperatively
- Excellent writing and analytical abilities
Specific responsibilities of the role will include:
- Analysing complex legal issues and developing solutions in cooperation with other teams
- Drafting and maintaining UCITS fund documentation including prospectuses, key information documents, and policies
- Advising on ESG regulations and supporting the development of ESG products
- Working closely with and overseeing external counsel for the funds, in Ireland and wherever the fund is sold
- Drafting documents and for new funds and navigating the regulatory approval process
- Advising the business on proposed changes to existing funds
- Providing legal support for responses to requests-for-proposal and due diligence requests
- Interpreting, advising on, and implementing new regulations
- Drafting shareholder communications
- Negotiating and drafting various contracts, including with third-party distributors
- Attending fund board meetings and assisting in developing meeting agendas
- Providing oral and written reports to the fund board
- Advising the business on cross-border marketing rules in various jurisdictions, including Asia, Europe and Latin America
- Supporting the registration of the UCITS for public sale in new jurisdictions
This role provides the opportunity to play a significant part in a growing team that is supporting an exciting strategic development within one of the world’s largest asset managers. Candidates within commuting distance of London or Dublin will be considered.
