JOB PURPOSE:
Handles the responsibilities and duties of the daily activities in Communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists RT in the daily operation of the Activities program including, but not limited to, staff supervision, program development and client training.
2. Communicates well with patients/residents/clients and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, patients/residents/clients and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor. Answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.
3. Completes Communication assessments for all clients as scheduled.
4. Completes quarterly communication document.
5. Develops communication program as appropriate.
6. Equipment utilized: phone system, computers, computer-based programs and other office equipment
7. Conducts communication activities in various team settings as well as Level 1 programming.
8. Operates at all times within the guidelines of facility policies, ICF/MR regulations, and Federal/State laws.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associate’s Degree in Communication or diploma/certificate from a technical school, with courses in related subjects
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of six 6) months clerical experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Two (2) years’ experience in communications preferred
