Job Summary
The Climate Change and Resilience Analyst will support organizational efforts to identify, prioritize, and monitor execution of a comprehensive set of climate change adaption initiatives to improve system resiliience. These adaption initiatives may include modifications to planning and design criteria, capital investments, operational improvements, and new or modified customer initiatives. To support the development of resiliency plans, the analyst will gathering data from program areas and consultants to support data, financial, and economic modeling, including developing calculations of costs and benefits associated with climate adaption measures. As resiliency plans are approved, the Analyst will work with program areas to track progress on PSEGLI climate adaption initiatives. The Analyst will also participate in developing regulatory filings related to PSEGLI resiliency initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinating with PSEGLI program areas and outside consultants to identify climate adaption measures
- Gathering data from identified program areas and consultants to support data, financial, and economic modeling, including developing calculations of costs and benefits associated with climate adaption measures
- Supporting the development of and maintaining operational reports that track progress on PSEGLI climate adaption initiatives
- Developing presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including updates on PSEGLI climate adaption initiatives
- Monitoring regulatory proposals related to climate adaption and resilience and supporting the development of written responses to regulatory agencies
- Participating as a business user in the development of a data repository of historic and projected climate variables
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in economics, policy, environmental science, or closely related field with at least three years’ experience relevant to climate change and energy or other critical infrastructure systems
- Demonstrated ability to analyze technical information, particularly related to energy and climate
- Excellent analytic skills
- Strong organization skills, detail orientation, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with climate change adaptation and resilience concepts
- Proficiency with MS Office Products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to respond to emergency storm and other system conditions which requires field work during nights and weekends
- This position is primarily a remote position. However, the candidate must be available to attend period in-person meetings in Long Island and the Rockaways. The candidate may also be required to attend occasional off-site meetings and conferences
Desired
- Master’s degree in economics, policy, environmental science, or a closely related field may substitute for two years’ experience
- Experience coding with one or more common programming languages such as SAS, Python and/or R
