The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Analyze engine supervisory and thermal performance data of F-Class Combined Cycle Gas Turbines to determine root causes and corrective actions for a variety of operational issues. Including controls, performance, auxiliaries, BOP
Utilize Process Information (PI) tools for monitoring, analysis and graphical representation of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and HRSG operations.
Build databases of known field issues and their indicators for reference during troubleshooting.
Willing to share current knowledge of systems and expand to other engine types and technologies.
Interact with team of aerothermal and performance engineers to define and develop best approaches and architecture philosophies for GT performance, troubleshooting, diagnostics and health monitoring models.
Clearly communicate corrective actions to customers via e-mails and/or phone calls.
Help refine automated tools and templates as necessary for recurring tasks to improve team responsiveness and productivity.
U.S. and international travel may be required.
Respond during working and non-working hours.
Includes overtime and rotational shifts
Facilitate and actively work to ensure all quality documentation is correct, complete, and timely and recorded as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; another Engineering degree combined with applicable Thermal Performance or Gas Turbine commissioning operations/diagnostic experience will be considered.
Plant Engineers with applicable Gas Turbine and other BOP troubleshooting experience will be equally considered.
Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix
Skills/Experience
5 years of experience (minimum) as a start-up/commissioning engineer working on F/G/H/J class combined cycle industrial gas Turbines and associated auxiliaries and systems.
Experience with Industrial GT/ ST/ GEN general architecture and design, knowledge of GT/ST/GEN support systems and associated supervisory instrument limits and alarms levels.
Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers consisting of controls, IC&E aerothermal, structural and mechanical design engineers as well as start up and commissioning engineers.
Working knowledge and experience with GT control systems (GE- MKVi, MKVie, Siemens – T3K, MHI- Netmation and or ABB – Symphony or Composer) and OSI PI Soft.
Candidate should have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.
Utilize appropriate design/analysis tools as necessary, data gathering and reduction (PI, MS Excel) along with MS office suite of tools for scheduling, reporting, presentations and others.
Candidate should have cross functionality knowledge in order to be able to work and coordinate the efforts of an multi-disciplinary team.
Multilingual candidates are a plus.
