What are the responsibilities and job description for the LEAD FOR MACHINE SHOP position at PSS?
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provides day-to-day lead to the Machine Shop employees to ensure that the shop is running efficiently and effectively by:
· Help Planning, organizing and prioritizing work
· Ensuring safe work practices are conducted by all shop personnel and safe work conditions are present.
·· · Responsible for supervising the efforts of hourly machine shop workers to achieve established production objectives as well as safety, quality and cost.
· Responsible for the supervision of all machine operations and overall production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities in the Machine Shop.·
· Assure that quality and cost requirements are adhered to and that production requirements are met.
· Responsible for supervising the efforts of hourly machine shop workers to achieve established production objectives as well as safety, quality and cost.
· Maintain clear communications between workers.
·· Supporting employees in conflict resolution
· Keeping the employees informed regarding Company developments
· Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines.
· Complete administrative paperwork as required.
· Will have excellent knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
· Oversight of equipment including working with equipment personnel on maintenance and repair of all machine shop equipment, accessories and service needs.
· Manage inventory levels and disposable tooling.
· · Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
· Ensure strict adherence to all Company manufacturing standards/methods and policies.
· Some physical exertion required. Sets up, adjusts tools and equipment, instructs and assigns employees to the task.
· Production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, wrapping, labeling and Sub-assembly operations
· Execute and document quality inspections per SOP Report defective materials, process, equipment or questionable conditions to the department supervisor Perform related duties as required by supervision
· Fork lift operation may be required, if licensed.
· Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
· Manufacturing Experience
· Manufacturing Quality Assurance/Control
· High School diploma or GED
· Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lead position/ machine shop and tool makers in a dynamic job shop environment. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate with individuals at all levels
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
