Medical Biller

We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team! As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for data entry, claims processing, ensuring proper CPT/ ICD-10 coding for surgeries and all aspects of accounts receivable. You will need to be able to work independently and adhere to regulatory compliance rules.

General Responsibilities

• This position requires fundamental knowledge of how insurance companies pay accordingly to contracts, how to read and interpret an insurance explanation of benefits (EOB), and do precise follow-up with the insurance company via, phone, email, insurance websites, etc.
• Data Entry: Charge and payment posting.
• Process claims electronically using established policies and procedures.
• Review Operative reports for services rendered to ensure proper billing.
• Follow up on aging and unpaid claims.
• Maintain confidentiality of all protected health information (PHI).

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:

• High School diploma required; Associate's degree preferred and/or 2 years of healthcare billing experience preferred, with Ambulatory Surgery billing experience a plus.
• Experience with analyzing explanation of benefits (EOBs) from various insurance companies/payers.
• Knowledge of CPT / ICD-10 coding.
• Must have strong problem solving, attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, carry out assignments independently and practice good judgement.
• Demonstrates a commitment to organizational values by displaying a professional attitude and appropriate conduct in all situations.
• Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills within a diverse population.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
