Family Nurse Practitioner– Job Description

Summary:

See patients for acute care and general health. In addition to diagnosing and treating illness, also must provide preventive care including routine checkups, health-risk assessments, and immunization.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat health conditions.
  • Formulate treatment plans.
  • Document patient’s information and treatments in patient’s charts/medical records.
  • Order tests and interpret test results.
  • Educate patients on their diagnosis and manage overall care of patients.
  • Prescribe medication as needed.
  • Monitor medication side effects to ensure patients safety over the course of treatment.
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
  • Maintain active communication with health professionals.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

● Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

● 3 years of experience required.

● ACLS required.

● BLS required.
