Lab Operations Assistant 1

Overview of Position:

The Laboratory Operations Assistant is primarily responsible for labeling tubes for biological sample collections. Responsibilities also include preparing and packaging tissue samples for shipment, QC samples after collection, inventory lab supplies and consumables and general maintenance of the laboratory space.

Job Responsibilities:

• Tube capping.
• Tube labeling, including racking and filling tubes with 10% NBF, RNALater, or any other solution as called for in study protocols.
• Sample QC-1 for shipment.
• Packing shipments (domestic and international).
• Supply inventory, including unpacking and organizing stock.
• Manage company stock and supply chain for key business items.
  • Maintain and organize lab supplies.
• Lab maintenance, including scheduling and overseeing preventative maintenance events.

Job Qualifications:

• Experience working in a laboratory in a professional setting.
• Experience working with lab equipment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Ability to work in both a group setting and independently.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Research and analytical skills.
• Neat handwriting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Associates degree with a minimum of 2 years working in a research/laboratory setting or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year working in a research/laboratory setting.
