The Data Processing Specialist role ensures that data for operational performance/volume measures is centralized for the enterprise. Specialists will interact either directly with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and/or leverage reports from them to compile and conform the necessary information; then, they will enter the conformed data into a proprietary analytics platform for enterprise consumption. Because this data drives many critical operational reporting across the organization, accuracy and timeliness of entry are of paramount importance.
Data for processing and entry may be provided in several forms; comfort utilizing Microsoft Excel and experience with and/or willingness to learn to navigate multiple EMR systems are crucial. While entry of data into the analytics platform is expected to be manual, the ingenuity to develop solutions for accurate and expeditious that contain elements of automation and value-add innovation are highly appreciated.
Essential Functions
- Daily processing and entry of required data for operational metric reporting, within Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Regular (daily) reconciliation of data entered over the preceding 60 days against refreshed system of record (SoR) reports
- Ability to quickly identify and clearly articulate (escalate) any issues observed in either the SoR system or the analytic platform
- Comfort managing large volumes of data
- Understanding of data aggregation to assist in ad hoc analysis (typically for describing variances)
- Regular communication of progress with team supervisor
- Required
- Microsoft Excel – Novice to Intermediate Proficiency
- General Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Products (Outlook, Teams, Word)
- Attention to Detail
- Time Management & Organization Skills
- Excellent Written & Oral Communication
- Preferred
- Working Knowledge of and/or Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems, such as:
- WebPT
- EPIC
- Cerner Soarian
- Etc.
- Experience in Revenue Cycle Management, Insurance, and/or Healthcare Billing
- Familiarity with Front Office Operations in a Clinical Environment
- Working Knowledge of and/or Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems, such as:
Required Education
- High-school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or information management related field preferred
