THIS IS A NON-CAREER APPOINTMENT THAT IS LIMITED TO 129 HOURS PER MONTH.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of this Student Assistant position.

The function of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit Unit (WOTC) is to process applications received from employers and service providers. The person in this position will assist the para-professional staff with verifying employer/employee information on the applications, searching the federal identification numbers of employers, data entering application information and identifying target groups. The position requires very accurate data entry skills, attentiveness to detail, the ability to use a personal computer, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, the ability to review information for completeness, the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and the ability to communicate effectively with others. In addition, this position will also assist with routine office functions and aid on short term projects as assigned.

Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution.

Civil Service Regulation 3.02 authorizes student assistants to work up to 29 hours a week with a maximum of 129 hours in a calendar month. The work schedule for each semester will be determined and agreed upon by the supervisor and the student.

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary for this position is entirely federally funded. Under federal law an employee whose salary is entirely federally funded may not be a candidate for public office in a partisan election.
