Job Description
Overview:
Zenith is looking for a talented Vice President, Multicultural Strategy to drive change and help deliver more meaningful, culture-driven marketing and media strategies across three accounts; all of which are starting on their multicultural marketing journey. This person is an intrinsic part of a large team of omni channel strategic thinkers and will lead them in the development and execution of media plans for these clients. This leader effectively leverages their culture-first experience, knowledge, and skills to push fresh thinking while balancing client, agency, and team needs with dedicated support in the way of senior level top-down guidance and direct reports. This position has dual reporting: 1) into the EVP, Managing Director on the client team and 2) the SVP, Multicultural Agency Lead for Zenith.
Role Objectives:
· Drive change
o Delivers culture first plans built on culture-first data and insights that deliver on business results
o Serves as culture-first expert/leader and content development stakeholder for all client presentations
· Lead by example
o Act as the cross-team leader, ensuring that culture-first thinking is at the forefront of all plans at every stage in the consumer journey
o Participates in new business efforts as the voice of culture-first expertise
o Cross pollinate culture-first learning among your peers
· Collaborate, Inspire and Influence
o Demonstrate strong knowledge of all cross-channel media (General market and Culture-first partners), with a drive for curiosity and passion for the client’s business
o Establish and grow client relationships by demonstrating a command of industry and client business issues
o Work with internal teams to gauge media performance and KPIs to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were met
· Reach Down and Pull Up the Next Generation of Talent
o Mentor and guide junior talent to ensure proper education for advancement

Above all else, this candidate is not easily discouraged, nor are they risk-adverse. They will bravely see each team or client interaction as an opportunity to identity a problem and bring forth a culture-first solution. They love creating the ‘never been done” but are equally as proud when recommendations are not approved because they put smart thinking forward and have already thought of a different way to position the opportunity for next time.
They are a self-starter and not easily intimidated. We are REALLY friendly and collaborative at Zenith – so don’t hold it back if you disagree or have an idea to deliver success for our clients.
They will be a “culture-first” resource to others in the resolution of complex problems/issues – and know how to unpack a client question to understand what they are really trying to solve for.
This candidate will have direct, ongoing support from Zenith’s Multicultural Lead to help set them up for success.
The other stuff
· B.A. or B.S.
· 10 years of media planning experience with concentration in culture-first strategy across
o Hispanic, African American, LGBTQ , Asian
o Agency experience highly preferred
o 5 years of experience in a management capacity
· Adept at injecting ideas, innovation and leading industry developments into planning assignments
· Thinks clearly and diplomatically when participating in a discussion to field complex or sensitive questions from clients/internal groups
· Demonstrates an ability to be curious and passionate about our client’s business
· Strong media partner relationships
· Solid understanding of programmatic marketplace; hands- on keyboard experience not required
· Proven experience and success in presenting plans to senior clients and influencing top level client decisions related to media strategy and implementation
· Detail-oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Software Knowledge: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, comScore, Prisma, Mbox, MRI/GfK, GWI. Must understand its capabilities and applications to translate data into actionable culture-first insights
