The Courtyard by Marriott Bellevue Downtown is looking for a full or Part time Server to join our team. We are managed by Puget Sound Hospitality which owns and operates 5 hotels in the Puget sound area.

Salary : $16.52 per hour plus tips
Location : 11010 NE 8
St. Bellevue, WA 98004.
Commute / Transportation : We are located just 1 block from the bus transit station and future Link Light rail station and offer a discounted annual ORCA pass.
If you prefer to drive, we offer free parking to all of our employees in our underground garage.
Benefits : Our benefits package is available to full time employees after they complete 60 days of employment. This package includes medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D.
We also have 6 paid holidays.
PTO is accrued at 0.0538 hours per hour starting on day 1 of employment.
We partner with Colonial life to offer supplemental insurance options such as accident, short term disability, and whole life during our annual enrollment.
We have a 401(K) retirement plan available to all employees who are 21 and have been employed for 6 months.

Work shifts : We are currently only open for breakfast but will have dinner shifts in the future
Responsibilities
The daily job duties
- Escort guests to their tables.
- Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
- Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Describe and recommend wines to guests.
- Write guests’ food and beverage orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
- Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests, and chill bottles of wine.
- Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses, and pour the wines for guests.
- Serve food or beverages to guests.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Collect payments from guests
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
- Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the shift or for large parties.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
- Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
- Answer phones to take reservations or to-go orders.
- Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash.
- Perform food preparation duties such as brewing coffee.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
Required Skills
The Requirements
- Valid Washington State Food workers card
- Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- Basic mathematical skills
- Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests
- Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
- Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and containers weighing up to 25 pounds
