Description
Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor represents Purchase College to prospective students, their families, college counselors, and the general public and works to increase inquiries and convert applicants into enrolled students. The successful admissions counselor exhibits superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students including interviews, phone calls, emails and information sessions. The counselor creates and implements recruitment strategies to reach prospective students through events, referrals, online and print communications, and outreaches to high schools, community colleges, and community-based organizations. The admission counselor must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, administrators and staff.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Strong customer service skills
Superior communication skills (spoken, written, group, individual)
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills and ability to make independent decisions
Computer skills: proficiency using Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work independently and operate effectively within a team environment
Preferred Experience:
Experience in customer service
Experience using Slate or other admissions CRM
Experience using BANNER
Bilingual- Spanish speaking preferred
