The Licensing & Compliance Analyst works closely with the Corporate Accounting and Legal group to ensure that our operations and business transactions obtain and maintain all necessary licenses, and follow all relevant legal and business rules and procedures in compliance with all Federal and State licensing requirements, regulations, and ordinances and applicable laws.  In this role, you will also be involved in all aspects of domestic licensing, compliance, and research in the unique and quickly evolving field of eCommerce. You will complete and submit all documentation related to business licensing, compliance projects and may support sales tax filings and compliance. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Process, document, and maintain all licensing applications and registrations including but not limited to completing detailed forms, writing letters, answering business questions, and gathering supporting documentation
  • Ensure timeliness, completeness and accuracy of each application and reports submitted on behalf of the Company
  • Review correspondence from licensing and regulatory agencies, determine action required in consultation with legal counsel as necessary and prepare correspondence, documents, check requests, performance bonds and other written communication
  • Interpret and comply with state and local statutes, regulations and legislation on behalf of the Company
  • Research licensing or permit requirements by jurisdiction and resolve any issues
  • Conduct periodic licensing audits to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Develop and implement process improvements and internal controls
  • Works under minimal supervision, referring only exceptional problems and issues for management review or approval
  • Other compliance projects and duties that may be assigned, including sales tax compliance, customer refunds and dormant accounts, etc

  Basic Qualifications:

  •  
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in licensing and/or similar compliance experience
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to function and work independently without administrative support, self-starter
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional research skills with the ability to research regulations across all jurisdictions
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare detailed reports with a high degree of accuracy
  • Stellar ability to manage competing priorities and multiple responsibilities with deadlines
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and enthusiastic about improving efficiencies
  • Flexible approach to shifting priorities, changes in technology, responsibilities, processes, and organizational structure
