Lawn Care and Ornamental Service Specialist Responsibilities
As a Lawn Care and Ornamental Service Specialist, you will work outside and be hands on. You will be consulting with both residential and commercial customers on a full range of landscaping issues to assess their needs. Identifying, diagnosing, and treating turf and ornamental issues as they arise. While experience is preferred, we will train the right candidate.
- Applying fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and insecticides as needed to lawns, shrubs and plant material in accordance with accepted industry practices, safety procedures, label instructions, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies
- Preparing and mixing products according to label instructions and product specifications, and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions
- Ensuring the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment; adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining cleanliness of vehicle and equipment
- Maintaining accurate records of products used
- Completing all required correspondence regarding work orders
- Retention of customers through rapport, communication, and met expectations
- Using hand tools, power tools and/or equipment to perform IPM duties
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Pay & Benefits
- Pay starts at $18 to $19 per hour

Minimum Experience Requirements
- Must be able and willing to work for long periods of time outside (in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight)
- Must be able and willing to bend, stoop, and twist repeatedly throughout the day
- Must be able to use hand tools and power equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Available to work Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed
- Must pass pre-employment background screen and drug test
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle record search
Preferred Experience Requirements
- At least 2 years of lawn, ornamental experience preferred.
- Certified Pesticide applicator
- Knowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, and herbicide products and calibration
- Knowledge of turf and ornamental issues
