Job Description*
We are looking for an energetic and experienced Cash Application, Collections Specialist to join our finance team. We process high volumes of transactions and remittances. As part of our team, you reconcile account receivable, post payments, and collect on past due AR. Our ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver who can collaborate effectively with other teams and possesses accurate data entry skills, timely reports and an eye for detail.

Essential Job Duties*

• Process and reconcile accounts receivable
• Apply payments via ACH, Wire, Check, and Credit Card Payments
• Address payment issues, duplicate payments or other discrepancies
• Collaborates with personnel at assigned stations to perform other essential functions with the goal of maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external clients
• Collects outstanding invoice payments on assigned accounts in accordance with acceptable collections practices
• Ensure customers are paying within terms, and proactively address consistent late payers
• Keeps Manager informed of the status of accounts, trends and any potential issues with customers payments and past due AR
• Other duties as assigned

Competencies*

• 3-5 years’ experience with both cash applications and collections.
• Syspro experience a plus
• Customer Service
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Personal computer skills, strong typing ability and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education/Experience: *

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• 5 years of cash applications experience and 3-5 years of collections experience.

Reports to: * OTC Lead
Working Location: Gurnee, IL (Remote position) Can work in office with a hybrid schedule.
