What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Aerial Lineman position at PUSH, Inc.?
Position Overview:
The Aerial Lineman builds and maintains aerial telephone systems which can consist of aerial and underground facilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Planning and initiating projects.
- Interaction with customers, utility owners and governmental officials.
- Establishing and conforming to OSHA and customer safety requirements.
- Assist in the construction of new aerial and underground services and service upgrades.
- Supervising Aerial Groundman.
- Training and mentoring of new employees assigned to job.
- Tree trimming or route clearing.
- Use of care of specialized hand tools.
- Use and care of required equipment.
- Operating heavy equipment such as Digger and Bucket Truck.
- Represent Push, Inc. in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Identify ways of continuous improvement of processes and procedures that will elevate the company, as a whole.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have a thorough knowledge of electricity, pole-line materials, the proper and safe use of tools and equipment used in line construction and maintenance, know RUS Construction Specifications, be familiar with the Aerial Safety Codes and Practices, and and work methods associated with aerial line work.
- Possess a valid Class A CDL, preferred.
- Have an acceptable safety record.
- Have demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Be willing to be available for emergency outages and travel to distant locations for projects.
