What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Splicer Technician position at PUSH, Inc.?
The Splicer Technician is responsible for splicing fiber, including all the related tasks while working throughout multiple phases of a project, necessary to the install of various utilities and associated units in various fields, including but not limited to power, telecom, water, and sewer in a construction environment as necessary for commercial or residential construction projects.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Splicing various types of Fiber optic cable.
- Opening, bonding, grounding, splice head, and hand holes, etc.
- Troubleshoot basic problems.
- Install equipment in customer’s central office.
- Install fiber optic enclosures in and out of customers’ homes.
· Ensure acceptable testing and turn-over of splicing on time.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Continuous focus on safety.
- Possible copper splicing.
- Responsible for upkeep and maintaining company vehicle, inventory, and small tools.
Education and/or Experience:
- Work Experience: Two years of experience working as a Splicer Technician.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity of various splicing machines, OTDR’s, power meters and other associated equipment required.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License, Class A CDL preferred.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.
- Demonstrate ability to read blueprints and maps.
- Skilled in fiber optic splicing.
- Proficient with fusion splice machine and fiber testing equipment.
- Knowledge of cable size, gauge, count, and colors of direction.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to maintain equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Abide all company and manufacturer safety procedures and industry safety standards, in addition to attending mandatory safety meetings.
