Job description summary:
Management of ongoing ESG reporting and leading new requirements as they develop. Close ties to legal, compliance, data contracting, RFP, and reporting functions.
Primary responsibilities:
- Assist in driving ESG reporting development lifecycle: conceptualization, prototyping, proof of concept, piloting, market viability validation.
- Ownership of ESG related regulatory requirements and reporting in the Agile framework and lead projects.
- Provide ESG subject matter expertise for client materials, presentations and reports, and provide support in answering advisor/client ESG data questions; serve as the ESG reporting authority/specialist in client meetings.
- Assess and recommend integration points and use cases as new ESG data points and sources become available; evaluate metrics and other data across multiple 3rd party data providers
- Ensure functional readiness for ESG products to enable commercialization of new products/concepts across Implementations, Operations, Service, Sales, etc.
- Apply a global perspective and creative approach for thinking about the evolution of our ESG reporting capabilities along with a passion for both markets and sustainability issues.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years analytical and professional experience in investment management or client reporting. Strong analytical, communication, creative thinking and problem solving skills. Self-starter, results oriented, proactive rather than reactive.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments and complete high-quality work within strict and challenging deadlines that are instructed by prospects, consultants, and clients
- Proven experience with sustainability data broadly and ESG metrics, understanding how sustainability metrics are calculated, how underlying data is gathered, and which data points are relevant in various contexts; experience with implementation of systematic/automated firm-wide solutions
- Experience working closely with ESG datasets and/or providers, preference give to those who have conducted ESG investment analysis using relevant data and frameworks, or have deep knowledge of ESG reporting convention and emerging standards gained in an audit and reporting capacity
- Preference for work experience with ESG data providers such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, Refinitiv, Arabesque. Experience working with relational databases and SQL queries. Experience in an Agile environment as an experience owner or product owner.
- Shown ability to independently initiate research and to articulate strategic concepts and prescribe applicable course of actions
- Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships. Effective negotiation skills demonstrating good judgment among multiple stakeholders, encouraging the confidence of others through proven expertise.
