The Job (Reference: PYGOAM-2)

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and energetic buyer for our operations team in Houston. This position requires a qualified professional with prior experience in procuring and managing inventory of multiple commodities such as semiconductor components, printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, machined parts/sub-assemblies, and software services in an ERP/MRP environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Be a champion of the internal component inventory control system and a key member in the process improvement of the ERP/MRP system
• Responsible for sourcing, project planning, developing BOM cost models, and evaluating make vs. buy analyses to support sourcing decisions
• Be the primary contact for engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and new product introduction teams (NPI) when determining best value suppliers, buying strategies, NPI sourcing plans, cost, lead times, EOL etc.
• Prepare and manage RFP/RFQ proposals and purchase agreements, and evaluate quotations
• Negotiate contracts, including terms and conditions, with assigned suppliers covering method of delivery, delivery date, price, discount, freight payment, warranty period, etc.
• Develop and execute printed circuit board (PCB) sourcing strategies for either fabrication or raw material supply chain
• Work with international suppliers, customs, and freight carriers to allow for smooth deliveries
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and government regulations such as International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business management, operations, inventory, supply chain/purchase management, accounting, materials management, commodity management or related field
• 5 years’ experience as a buyer in a global company and/or a manufacturing environment focused on semiconductor, electronics, printed circuit boards, sensor subassemblies, and machined parts
• Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
• Knowledge and proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (RFQs, ECO, Lead Times, Price, MOQ, Suppliers, EOL)
• Self-motivated individual who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Must comply with standard operating procedures and established Health and Safety regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all engineering and manufacturing disciplines as well as the marketing team in a professional team-oriented environment

Pay: $30 to $50 hourly based on experience
