Key Responsibilities:
- As a Certified Operating Room (OR) Scrub Technician, you will assist the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures.
- Assist with preparing operating suite for procedures. Help monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments as indicated.
- The Certified Operating Room Technician anticipates the needs of the surgical suite within the scope of the position's competencies with the use of critical thinking.
- Prepare the room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each individual surgical procedure.
- Prepare sterile instrument table.
- Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients.
- Assist the surgical team in surgical procedures which may include passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
- Gather equipment for cleaning and sterilization.
- Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Required Keywords: (NBSTSA OR "NATIONAL BOARD OF SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY AND SURGICAL ASSISTING") AND (BLS OR "BASIC LIFE SUPPORT") AND ("CERTIFIED SURGICAL TECH" OR "SURGICAL SCRUB TECH" OR "OPERATING ROOM TECH" OR "SURGICAL TECH" OR "CERTIFIED SURGICAL SCRUB TECH" OR "SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST")
- High school diploma or GED.
- Operating Room (OR) Tech Diploma preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
- 2-3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Call Required, MUST LIVE WITHIN 30 MIN FROM THE FACILITY.
