As a server at Rand Tower Hotel, your role is to provide exceptional customer service by taking and delivering drink orders to guests in a timely and efficient manner. Job description for a cocktail server at Rand Tower Hotel:
Customer service: Your main responsibility is to provide excellent customer service to hotel guests. Greet guests warmly, take their drink orders, and ensure their needs are met throughout their visit to the bar or lounge area.
Order taking and delivery: Approach guests, present menus, and take drink orders accurately. Remember and communicate special requests or dietary restrictions to the bartender. Deliver beverages promptly and ensure accuracy in fulfilling orders.
Knowledge of beverages and menu: Have a good understanding of the drink menu, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. Be able to answer questions about the menu, make recommendations, and suggest appropriate pairings.
Upselling and suggestive selling: Promote special offers, featured drinks, or additional menu items to enhance the guest's experience and increase revenue. Use suggestive selling techniques to upsell premium beverages or recommend popular choices.
Cash handling: Handle cash transactions, process payments, and accurately manage cash registers. Ensure proper handling of credit card transactions, including processing payments and returning cards promptly.
Cleanliness and organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bar and lounge area. Clear empty glasses, clean tables, and ensure the area is tidy and presentable. Assist with restocking supplies, such as napkins, straws, and garnishes, as needed.
Collaboration with the team: Work closely with bartenders, other servers, and hotel staff to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with team members to fulfill guest orders efficiently and provide a seamless customer experience.
Knowledge of safety and health regulations: Adhere to safety and health regulations related to the handling and serving of food and beverages. Follow proper hygiene practices, maintain cleanliness in the bar and lounge area, and comply with local alcohol serving laws.
Knowledge of hotel services: Familiarize yourself with the hotel's services, facilities, and events to provide accurate information to guests and promote hotel offerings.
