Our Accounting Clerk is responsible for all activities associated with computing, classifying and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete to meet customer demand in a manufacturing facility involved in turning recycled paper into sheets of corrugated board and getting them to our customers.

Accounting Clerk Duties and Responsibilities
- Retrieve a high volume of invoices from AP Email (Gmail)
- Communicate professionally to external and internal vendors, via email and phone calls, regarding all aspects of accounts payable
- Review Invoices & Purchase Orders for three-way matchers or discrepancies
- Codes non-PO invoices to the proper GL Account and Cost Center
- Review Vendor Statements monthly
- Scan Invoices to Shared Services to be processed in SAP
- Create Purchase Orders, as needed
- Attend Zoom Meetings, as needed
- Process daily billing & input of invoices to customer portals
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Ideal Skills/Experiences
- Familiar with a GRIR (Goods Receipt, Invoice Receipt) Report
- SAP Experience
- Assist in streamlining and improving the Accounts Payable processes
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 Years’ experience (will consider education in lieu of experience)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem solving skills and work ethics
- Must have excellent organization skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
- Prior experience in an accounting role
- Secondary accounting courses

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routing reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Computer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel as well as accounting software)
Proficient knowledge and application of accounting principles
Quality standards – both ISO and QS

The performance of the Accountant will be measured as follows:
Operating standards - The employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards set in the areas of quality, cost, safety, planning, customer satisfactions, supervision, efficiency, and productivity. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the manager.
Personal growth - Each year there will be professional goals developed and agreed to by the manager and supervisor.
