Essential Functions
While not all-inclusive, the following is a list of primary and general duties. In addition to these listed duties, this position shall also perform other tasks as assigned, shall abide by all provisions of the Employee Manual, and shall participate in company initiatives and projects.
Applicants must have experience with and an ability to read wire tables and wire routing, wire diagrams, blueprints, schematics, color codes, measurements, mathematics, and work with a soldering iron.
Assemble cable components such as wires, connectors, and terminals according to established procedures and specifications.
Utilize hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and other manufacturing equipment to complete cable assemblies.
Inspect completed cable assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with cable assemblies and make necessary repairs.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols.
Follow established inventory control procedures to ensure the availability of necessary components and materials.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, including production counts and quality assurance data.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and quality.
Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment
Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed
Assist warehouse personnel with technical/electronics troubleshooting and train staff as needed
Accurately pack equipment for shows and/or custom orders
Perform all duties in keeping with company safety/compliance and standards
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school or vocational training in electronics, soldering, or cable assembly is preferred.
1-2 years of experience in cable assembly, soldering, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams.
Proficiency with hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and other manufacturing equipment.
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Good time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing manufacturing processes.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
The person in this role must be able to frequently move about the facility -- walk, bend, stoop, stand and climb, and at times, remain stationary depending on the task. This person in this role will work in a warehouse and office environment and be exposed to loud noises and hot/cold temperatures. This person will have routine contact with individuals in all areas and levels of the facility. The person in this role must frequently climb stairs, move equipment and work at a fast pace frequently. The person in this role must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and up to 75 lbs frequently. The person in this role will have the ability to work varying hours and long stretches at a time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Hours of work will vary depending on the business need, but for the most part the person in this role will have a standard schedule set by the Facility Manager. The person in this role can expect working a longer than normal work day during peak business times per business need.
