About the Position:
Our client is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to optimize current designs for manufacturability, and to create custom designs for bespoke projects. The Hydraulic Engineer will work directly with the sales team and our customers to understand their requirements, as well as work with the production team to ensure the design can be produced safely and in the timeframe the customer expects. The organization has a customer first attitude, meaning they work to create a design that is as in line with what the customer requests as practicably as possible. Due to the size of the organization, the role requires transparency and collaboration with all departments allowing this individual to wear multiple hats and engage with different functions to drive out exceptional products.
Key Position Functions:
- Design hydraulic power systems to meet customer requirements and become engineering subject matter expert.
- Produce hydraulic schematics, mechanical assemblies, layouts, drawings, BOMs (bill of materials), manuals, etc.
- Implement and optimize current products to maximize efficiency and reduce cost.
- Build and maintain relationships with hydraulic components vendors.
- Provide technical support and training to customers, sales and production teams.
- Design, develop testing plans for new components, products and prototypes.
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with hydraulic components
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion, Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and symbols.
- Demonstrated ability to meet schedule and cost goals.
- Ability to work as a part of a team and autonomously
- Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
