Inventory Control Planner Position Overview
The Inventory Control Planner will perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering.
- Ensures tools or equipment are available to meet production or maintenance needs.
- Established process for storing, cleaning, maintaining and tracking tools, measuring devices or other equipment.
- Ensures tools withdrawals and usage are appropriately recorded.
- Request maintenance or replacement of damaged or worn tools.
- May interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
- Creates, maintains, and monitors master schedules according to customer and manufacturing needs to ensure efficient operations.
- Schedule equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
- Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Level based on experience
General Physical Requirements :
- Lifting, climbing, grasping holding, standing, bending and stooping
