This opportunity is accountable for managing the regulatory and economic capital modeling functions for QBE North America by implementing strategic vision, leading the capital management team, and developing ideas and innovative solutions to planning, budgeting and forecasting processes. Align the strategic objectives of the Treasury team and ensure funding is available for all intended transactions as well as a close link between the planning for earnings, capital and liquidity. Strengthen the decision support framework for the business and ensure all economic factors, including local and global capital, are considered across organic and inorganic opportunities. Primary Responsibilities • Implement and manage the global Economic Capital Modeling (ECM) platform globally, ensuring downtime is minimal and resources are adequate •Monitor, forecast and strategize on regulatory capital factors, including pool structure and management, dividends/return of capital, legal entity rationalization, capital efficiency and asset allocation •Collaborate with internal stakeholders by analyzing trends, industry best practices and understanding objectives to guide the development of business strategies that support QBE's plans and organizational growth •Conduct reinsurance evaluation including risk transfer analysis and loss portfolio transfer to determine impacts to required capital •Support the Treasury team on Best's Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR) and S&P Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Level III Accreditation to ensure credibility and alignment of required capital •Provide oversight in liquidity planning for decision support purposes and operational requirements •Conduct analysis on strategic capital impacts (acquisitions/divestitures) and determine whether appropriate for QBE from a risk, benefit and cost perspective •Build strong relationships with key external stakeholders and manage various reporting and meeting requirements to remain in compliance Required Education • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Required Experience • 10 years relevant experience Preferred Competencies/Skills • People leadership, coaching and personal development •Strategy definition, including board-level documentation, feasibility and cost benefit analysis •Sound commercial judgment and strong negotiation skills •Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and trust at all levels with internal customers •Develop and use metrics to promote desired results •Develop and manage budgets •Ability to contribute to the development of strategy for the organization •Manage, influence and collaborate with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish a common goal •Provide vision; think creatively and innovatively Preferred Education • Master's Degree Preferred Experience • Extensive experience leading the long-term and near term capital management process for a large international organization, partnering with corporate leaders to shape business priorities, experience managing or leading others •Increasing levels of responsibility.
