- Supervise daily operations of team by coordinating and communicating employee tasks, measuring performance and providing feedback to achieve high productivity and meet service level expectations
- Lead the underwriting operations team to provide solutions in line with strategic requirements
- Develop operational underwriter skill sets by delivering appropriate training, prioritizing and delegating tasks, sharing best practices, advising on compliance issues and monitoring operational efficiency
- Oversee the streamlining of underwriting operations by processing, documenting and organizing new business to underwriting, renewals, endorsed and cancelled policies, preparing and maintaining legal notices and underwriting quotes to support business strategy
- Oversee underwriting client files by utilizing customer relationship management tools and updating records as required to reflect current state
- Participate in operational projects to review and/or design new required process modules and evaluate market dynamics and opportunities to ensure underwriting compliance and grow the book of business
- Lead the team in providing timely and accurate information and support to key stakeholders
- Manage resources to ensure consistency of service delivery to all business stakeholders
- Ensure all operational and data processes are clearly agreed, documented and adhered to
- Collaborate with key stakeholders by sharing information, recommending solutions to basic underwriting issues and guiding clients as required
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
- 7 years relevant experience
