Job Description
A NYC agency located in New York, NY is looking for a Z/OS IMS Systems Programmer for a long term contract.
Please note that this position allows for remote work.
Note: Pursuant to New York City Executive Order 75 (effective Aug. 2, 2021), all new City hires must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a Technical/Business Discipline or 10 years of experience in the field
Experience/ Preferred Qualifications
- The candidate must have extensive experience with z/OS and IMS
- Working knowledge of DB2 and CICS is a big plus
- 10 years of experience working SMP/E, TSO, JCL, basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, etc.) program product installations and Unix System Services.
- Experience in using monitoring tools such as MAINVIEW/DB2, MAINVEIW/IMS and/or OMEGAMON
- Working with an enterprise-wide, large-scale implementation
- Excellent Communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required
Responsibilities
- Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, IMS Subsystem and related software products.
- The candidate will be required to provide Production off-hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations
