Position Overview
QinetiQ US is looking to hire an experienced Systems Enginer to support geospatial systems integration across a variety of platforms and customer bases. The selected candidate will develop and manage systems level requirements, develop operational systems concepts, originating design concepts or performing systems level integration and test for highly complex systems. The candidate will be required to interact with systems users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design while participating in the developments of test strategies.
Responsibilities
- Solves engineering problems in the functional area assigned.
- Plans and performs engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications; supervises team of engineers through project completion.
- Responsible for major technical/engineering projects of higher complexity and importance than those normally assigned to less experienced engineers; coordinates the activities of engineers assigned to specific engineering projects; and may perform other duties as assigned.
- Support Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) and Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) system engineering.
- Analyze system capabilities with Army Geospatial Enterprise (AGE) and Corps of Engineers (CoE) compliance requirements and Identify gaps.
- Maintain functional specifications that define essential technical requirements of Legacy DCGS-A, Intelligence Systems and Analytics (IS&A), Mission Command, and CoE Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE).
- Maintain system engineering documentation including the System Engineering Plan and Software Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Cross reference mapping of GEOINT functional specifications to Intelligence or Mission Command Systems specifications and program-level documents, such as the Capabilities Production Document (CPD), Information Systems Interface Control Document (IS-ICD), and Requirements Definition Package (RDP).
- Interact with systems users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design.
- Plan and perform engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and customer specifications.
- Lead team of engineers through project completion; responsible for major technical/engineering projects of higher complexity.
- Participates in the development of test strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in related Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, business or related scientific or technical discipline., or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience in full life-cycle systems engineering, developing and managing systems level requirements.
- 10 year of experience in advanced Geospatial capability hardware systems integration.
- Experience supporting DoD systems hardware development and integration programs.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Must be able to obtain a DoD TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT background with experience in Azure, AWS, Windows, Linux, MacOS, VMware, PowerShell, Bash, and other scripting languages.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
