QinetiQ US seeks a motivated, Strategic Management Consultant responsible for providing strategic advice to a federal client. This individual will be embedded in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively with a growing management consulting team in support of senior executive leadership in a federal organization. The primary workstreams include program management, process improvement, internal and external stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and execution, as well as national security subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level advisory support on an array of topics ranging from executing strategic communications and stakeholder engagement to managing policy, process, and protocol efficiencies under quick deadlines.
- Oversee the overall flow of work for the team while working closely with both federal and contract staff to advance strategic priorities identified by senior executive management.
- Anticipate project needs and plan accordingly to deconflict and organize project priorities.
- Identify, plan, recommend, and implement strategic plans that meet the goals of executive leadership.
- Identify, plan, recommend, and implement solutions that improve efficiencies for internal processes.
- Develop, document, and implement recommendations for improving current processes and workflows.
- Manage and report project requirements and deadlines on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to the client and COR, as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to introduce QinetiQ solutions to address existing and anticipated challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a five to eight years of work experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or three to five years of work experience and a Master’s degree.
- A minimum of three years of experience supporting process improvement or change management initiatives with demonstrated ability achieve project goals in a collaborative team setting.
- Previous experience in federal management consulting as well as homeland security, strategic communications, stakeholder management, Congressional engagement, immigration policy, law, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrate consistent growth managing current duties and accepting gradual increases in responsibility as the needs of the team and client evolve.
- Experience and skills creating a supportive, collaborative, and positive team environment.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with an attention to detail.
- Identify opportunities to introduce QinetiQ solutions to address client challenges.
- Ability to maintain a security clearance from the U.S. government.

- Experience setting and managing federal client relationships and expectations in a diplomatic manner.
- Experience effectively listening and communicating with diverse team, client, and organizational stakeholders.
- Quick learner and an intellectual curiosity when faced with new work and challenges.
- Ability to set priorities, plan, and organize tasks and deliverables as needs evolve.
- Strong self-starter capable of anticipating needs and constantly searching for solutions to answer short- and long-term needs.
- Familiarity with project management tools and best practices.
