Position Overview

QinetiQ,is seeking a creative, hands-on, hardworking Systems Engineer to join our Data & Technology Group in support if our defense client.

Our Data and Technology Group (DTG) is a diverse, project-oriented team delivering technology solutions to our Defense, Homeland, Law Enforcement, and Civilian agency clients. DTG is QinetiQs' homebase for developers, data scientists, network engineers, system administrators, and other technologists, creating a dynamic, cross-project technical community that prioritizes continual learning, collaboration, and easy opportunities for project variety over time.

DTG also ensures that our focus on delivering for current customers is balanced with initiatives that will help drive future growth - both in terms of new customers and new technologies and solutions. Ambitious technologists will have a wide range of opportunities to stretch their tech skills as we create novel demonstrations and pilot capabilities to help clients as they consider how to modernize and maximize their technology, processes, operations, and mission impact.

Responsibilities

• Administer our cloud-based Office 365 tenant and Azure AD
• Collaborate with our cybersecurity team to ensure security of our tenant and technical operations
• Work interactively with cyber security SMEs to monitor and review activity for threats/compromises on network equipment
• Troubleshoot all Microsoft 365 technologies and communication platforms
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• Provide technical support for all Microsoft 365 products, Including SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange
• Monitor and troubleshoot any Microsoft 365 related issues
• Maintain and update existing infrastructure
• Analyze log files, investigate, and correct or record errors discovered
• Ensure ITIL standards are followed and practiced
• Manage overall Azure Active Directory environment, auditing guest and user accounts, create, maintain, disable guest accounts in accordance with guest access policy
• Manage user account creation, termination, and access changes as a part of onboarding, separations & internal transfer processes
• Perform routine auditing and clean-up of Azure environment, various modules, compliance, security, Intune, etc.
• Track and utilize Azure and systems administration metrics to inform improvements and report status and state of the environment
• When necessary, provide on-site technical support to the Reston, VA office location, technical employees and executives, and conference room support in collaboration with the IT Service Desk team

Required Qualifications

• B.S. and four years of professional experience
• 3-10 years of experience in Information Technology
• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related area of study
• Required: Experience administering cloud-based Microsoft technologies (Azure Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint)
• Experiencing using Office 365 Products and Power Automate
• Possess a customer service orientation; ability to provide support with clarity, kindness, humility, and empathy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or related four-year STEM degree
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Virtual Server use in Nutanix
• Active Directory/GPOs
• Microsoft Exchange
• Patching tools/SCCM
• Proven work experience as a Windows Administrator is preferred.
• Analytical math skills necessary to complete the required tasks.
• Proficient in C, C , or C#
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows based development environments including MS Visual Studio and .NET.
