Network Engineer
You will be part of the team working on our network with regards to network connectivity, network security, telephony and video conferencing and WAN/VPN connectivity. You will be responsible for maintaining and administering Qlik’s computer networks. Your primary duties will include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. You will also be working closely with the users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing Cisco routing, switching, and WAN technologies.
- Managing Aruba EdgeConnect (SilverPeak) SD-WAN devices.
- Managing Fortinet firewalls and VPN connectivity.
- Being a part of the team handling network security.
- Configuring cloud platform networking in Azure and AWS.
- Improving processes, procedures, and scalability through network automation.
- Analyzing infrastructure usage and plan for growth across network elements (physical and virtual).
- Upgrading existing elements to new patch levels.
- Defining the future infrastructure pieces for new data centers.
- Troubleshooting complex interactions across multiple networks.
- Evaluating new routing, switching, wireless, and WAN technologies.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate field.
- 6 years of work experience working with Cisco equipment.
- 4 years of experience with network capacity planning, network security. principles and general network management best practices. Extra beneficial if you have experience working with telco’s in different countries.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g BGP, OSPF, STP, QoS, NetFlow, OpenFlow, MPLS, SIP).
- Knowledge of SDWAN, WAN Optimization, Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, Google).
- Experience with wireless technologies including Aerohive.
- Knowledge of Windows server 2012-2022.
- Knowledge of Active Directory.
- Experience in any of the following would be considered a significant benefit: Qlik software, Scrutinizer, Graylog, IPv6, Next generation firewalls, NAC, VMWare, “cloud computing”, monitoring.
- Excellent communication in English, both verbal and written.
- High general IT knowledge.
- Experience with Python scripting.
- Travel required approx. 20% of time within the US.
