The Job

Essential Functions

  • Associate Director level will assist in the essential functions listed below and work closely with the Directors to execute these.
  • Establish and execute a comprehensive strategic sales plan.
    • Account planning, execution, and forecasting.
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute all client sales activities and sales processes from lead generation through closure including prospecting, networking, cold-calling, meetings, presenting, following up and negotiating.
    • Effectively utilize CRM (Salesforce.com).
    • Respond immediately to all requests by clients or QPS management.
  • Sign new business proposals and achieve corporately assigned sales targets.
    • Generate Request for Proposals (RFPs) from new clients for QPS’ small molecules, biotherapeutics (proteins, gene therapy, and cell therapy), non-GLP Bioanalysis and Preclinical (DMPK) services.
    • Generate Request for Proposals (RFPs) from existing clients.
  • Network and relationship-build at Senior/Decision-maker level across key accounts.
    • Develop new clients and leverage existing client relationships and profiles.
    • Represent and promote QPS at industry meetings.
  • Drive sales to closure working in conjunction with other functions and other BD staff.
    • Work closely and effectively with BD colleagues.
    • Share knowledge, skills, and contacts with BD team.
    • Build and leverage internal relationships and resources to support field sales, e.g., Marketing, Finance, Technical Operations, etc.
    • Work cross-functionally, cross-culturally, inter-department, inter-subsidiary, and accommodate communications across global time zones.
    • Direct and coordinate client visits to QPS’ facilities, including pre-visit strategy meetings and agenda.
  • Communicate field and account activity to Supervisor, Management and/or appropriate individuals within QPS Operations.
    • Prepare activity reports including priorities, plans, and activities.
  • Frequent travel: as necessary, including client sites, QPS facilities, and industry meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
    • two years in a CRO or pharmaceutical/biotech sales or operations.
    • two years of sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.
