What are the responsibilities and job description for the TLM - Specialist, Sample Disposition position at QPS, LLC?

As a Sample Disposition Specialist, you will be a key contributor to the smooth operations of QPS’ Translational Medicine department, by ensuring that biological samples and other controlled materials are received, stored, distributed, and tracked, as well as returned safely, securely, confidentially and without loss or damage. The process is regulated and vital to the success of clinical trials around the world.
The Sample Disposition Specialist role requires comfort with computer systems and databases. Though part of a larger Sample Management team, there are multiple daily interactions and troubleshooting with operations staff, vendors, and clients. Senior Specialists are trained and supported by process and technical experts.

The Job
- Learn and run our QPS-specific Watson-LIMS-based, regulatory compliant, real-time, GBA harmonized sample tracking database and supporting processes
- Receive and reconcile shipped samples with an electronic database
- Pull and distribute on-test samples for complex sample analysis runs
- Independently execute and document storage changes, disposal, and return of samples
- Track samples through Watson-LIMS up to and including shipment and disposal as well as archive LIMS studies upon completion
- Train and mentor junior staff within the Sample Management team and operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree plus 1 year of relevant industry experience OR equivalent combination of education/experience
- Experience with database structure, management, and security (LIMS, Access, Quick Base)
