Overview
The Mechanical Designer II provides front-line assistance for the development and sustaining of technical products and systems, and will support a variety of projects, project teams, and products across the organization. This position assists with design, develops technical documentation, supports design reviews, executes lab work with instruction from mechanical engineers, and supports projects with generally predictable levels of complexity within the mechanical portion of development.
Base Salary Range 53,000 – 78,000
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities
Design and documentation of products - 80%
With guidance from senior mechanical engineers and/or designers, develops mechanical designs, performs system and part level DFx reviews, and develops technical documentation to support product development in a rapid time frame that meet engineering, manufacturing, and business targets.
Provides direct day-to-day support to engineers and project teams as assigned.
Testing and Qualification - 10%
Hands-on involvement and oversight of product verification testing and qualification
Analysis - 5%
Supports mechanical engineering analysis of design for manufacturability and adherence to BOM cost goals.
Sustaining engineering support - 5%
Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing and field issues, support 2nd sourcing efforts, and provide general feedback for engineering.
