What are the responsibilities and job description for the A/R & A/P Clerk position at QSSI?
QSSI, founded in 1985, is looking for an AP/AR Clerk to join the team as we are growing! The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and can compile, analyze, audit accounting, budgetary, and fiscal data. We manufacture custom lighting, die-cast parts, and components in multiple locations (domestically and internationally). We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment while keeping accuracy and quality high.
Please note: This position is located on the second floor of an office building with 23 stairs (no elevator) to enter and exit the office.
General Duties:
- Pays vendors; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before payment
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
- Process check requests
- Assist in month-end closing.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, following company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Assist with other projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned, including cross-training and filing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in AP/AR keeping; or An equivalent combination of education (not less than possession of a high school diploma/GED), training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.
- Experience with Sage 100 Accounting System preferred; but minimally experience with Sage 50, Quickbooks, Peachtree, or other Accounting Software.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, procedures, methods, and theory.
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and policies governing assigned functional accounting areas.
- Knowledge of computer operations using accounting and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to prepare accounting, financial, and statistical reports.
- Ability to compile, analyze, and/or audit accounting, budgetary, and fiscal data.
Pay Range: $18.50/hour - $22.00/hour Depending on Experience.
