The Pewaukee plant is the birthplace of Quad. Harry V. Quadracci founded the company at the Pewaukee location, a vacant factory, in 1971 with one press and one saddle stitcher. Quad is seeking Laser Print Operators to work at their Direct Marketing facility in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

SUMMARY:

In this position you will assist in the creation of various well known Direct Mail pieces and other related products.  Quad prides itself on having a “grow from within” philosophy where employees are provided the opportunity to learn in their roles and grow within the company.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operate inkjet, laser, xerographic or offset duplicating printers. RIP files or review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing.  Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests.  Setup, program, and release jobs from print queue.  May adjust image position, perforations, and folds on paper.  Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality.  Order supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets and rollers, paper, tabs, and other items as needed.  Maintain inventory levels.

Comply with all quality, safety rules and regulations as well as Standard Operating Procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment.  Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.  Typically, the adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand long hours and use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement.

Able to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds, standing long periods of time of up to 12 hours, perform repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere and use vision in order to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation. 

Able to work overtime as needed based on the workload.

Basic computer skills are required.

Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and work independently.

Prior printing industry experience or manufacturing experience (such as laborer, assembly, or distribution) required, experience in Direct Mail preferred.

Previous experience with IBM/Ricoh toner-based laser equipment desired.
