What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oversight Physician position at QuadMed?
Quad Med is seeking an Oversight Physician to support our team at our Health & Wellness Center in Grain Valley, MO. The oversight provider is a practicing physician who functions in oversight capacity for the Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at the health and wellness centers of QuadMed. In addition, they are accountable for the delegation of tasks and oversight of such tasks (as deemed necessary by state regulations) to assure highest quality of clinical care.
The duties of oversight include being available for telephone consults, reviewing charts with timely completion of audit reporting template, cosigning pharmacy orders if applicable, partnering with the appropriate Medical Director to assure highest quality standards are maintained.
Time requirements are minimally 2 hours a week. However, state regulations may mandate additional requirements, which will be incorporated into the expectations of the position. These will be delineated at the commencement of employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts timely quality review and satisfactory completion of oversight documentation on assigned APP charts based on state regulations and QuadMed procedures.
- Be available to APP as necessary via phone/pager or in person during time the NP/PA is seeing patients or involved in clinical activities to consult on patient care.
- Provides feedback to APP and partner with the medical director as necessary, including any quality concerns, to aid in quality improvement for the APP and to assure highest care delivery standard.
- Reviews and consents of delegated tasks and oversight of these tasks, as deemed by state guidelines, and QuadMed standard.
- Performs any other duties or services required by laws, rules or regulations relating to collaboration with the NP / PA as designated by the applicable state.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and organization information. Follows federal and state regulations and organization policies regarding protection of patient information.
- Executes collaborative agreement with APP and periodically renew as required by state law and/or QuadMed procedure.
- May be required to conduct site visits to meet with their respective APP as required by state regulations and law.
Qualifications
Education:
- MD. or D.O degree from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy and completion appropriate residency
- Active Board certification or eligibility
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of primary care practice
- Proficiency in use of electronic medical records
- Two (2) or more years of experience supervising, training or mentoring advanced practice professionals preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Current and unrestricted licensure in MO
- Current DEA registration
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases.
- Knowledge of symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Scope of practice must be commensurate to the scope of the APP the oversight physician is supervising
- Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion
