Duties and Responsibilities
- Become knowledgeable with product blueprints and specifications
- Review products for improvements; cost savings or product performance
- Review products identified to be difficult for operations to manufacture
- Review products identified to have poor quality
- Identify new market areas in the United States or how to expand our market share in existing markets
- Tracks projects
- Launch crating, product and jobsite procedure training for Quaker employees
- Develop and manage the Product Management budget consistent with Quaker's strategic plan
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Engineering, Purchasing, Service, Sales and manufacturing staff
- Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
- Interact and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
- Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.
- Communicate via email, prepare reports and work schedules.
- Review and analyze data and information concerning service work by department.
- Plan, prioritize and monitor product launch activities.
- Oversee the completion of projects in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibility
The leadership and management responsibilities of this position include assigning and checking work of others. The position will also monitor staff performance and employee retention. The individual will train employees, provide performance feedback and complete any correction or discipline necessary. The supervisor will handle hires, salary adjustments, employee grievances and terminations for their team. Additionally, the supervisor will assist in determining means, methods and materials for performing work.
Safety
Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment); report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly.
Travel
Approximately 50-60% travel is required.
Qualifications
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Proficient understanding of how a product is manufactured
- Understanding of product terminology
- Knowledge of Quaker products and accessories preferred
- Knowledge of Building & Energy Code requirements
- Ability to navigate through and use Quaker's Q1 system preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
The expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering or related field
- Experience with SolidWorks modeling design and engineering application is recommended
- Experience with AutoCAD drafting software is recommended
- Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience required
- Minimum 4-5 years of product management, sales or manufacturing experience required
